Former University of Kentucky and NBA Champion Derek Anderson has released his first book called “Stamina.”
Derek Anderson is always working! In the book, Derek Anderson will take you back to times in his life when he could have easily given up but instead he found a way, when there seemed to be no way. Derek Anderson named his book “Stamina” because everyone has come to a point in their lives where they want to give up or give in but all you need to do is have enough stamina to win in life.
Listen to the interview below as Derek Anderson shares the impact of being homeless, abandoned by his parents at 12, becoming a father at 14, and the life lessons he learned to survive it all.
Here is an excerpt from the book:
“People love winners because we see the intense passion and unwavering drive that we either have or are working towards embedding deep inside ourselves. The way we handle our adversities will be the way we live our lives. Once you decide to have faith in something, only you can change the outcome. I committed a long time ago to reject failure as a part of who I am. I decided to write the script for my own life instead of allowing someone else to write it for me.”
